WORLD SCOUT JAMBOREE
The World Scout Jamboree is our most prestigious event which takes place every four years each hosted by a different country. The 23rd Jamboree will take place in Japan in 2015. The event will see over 30,000 young people come together from 162 countries including over 2400 young people from the UK. These young people will have the once in a lifetime opportunity to build international relationships, experience a variety of cultures and develop themselves as global citizens.
The Unit will take part in an action packed programme on the Jamboree site, including the peace programme, global development village, cross road of culture, exploring nature, cross road of science, community service and water activities. The unit will also visit Hiroshima during their time on the Jamboree.
We will be spending 2 days in the Capital of Japan, Tokyo with some preplanned activities organised but the UK Contingent and some free time for the unit to explorer the biggest montropolis in the World. We will also be experiencing the real Japan with Home Hospitality, where the unit will be split up and will stay with a local Japanese family for 2 days.
